Meal #2: Mongolian Tofu – A "Dog Food" Disaster?

The Verdict: 4/10 (And that’s being generous!)
I was really hoping Gousto would redeem itself after the "Childhood Memory" Biryani, but day two was... well, it was an experience. We had the Mongolian Tofu with Rice.
The "Plastic" Problem
If you're trying to cut down on waste, this meal was a nightmare. Everything seemed to come in plastic that was meant for the microwave. The rice was pre-cooked in a pouch (which felt very "ready-meal"), and even the tenderstem broccoli was supposed to be steamed in a plastic-covered bowl. I rebelled and used the hob to steam mine, but I couldn't save the rest of the dish.
The Taste Test
How do I put this politely? It looked like dog food and, honestly, I imagine it tasted similar! It was a strange, sticky, gravy-like consistency with bland tofu drowning in an overly salty sauce.
My Take: 4/10. I’m officially Team HelloFresh right now.
The Kids: My daughter ate the broccoli (small win!), ignored the rice, and point-blank refused the tofu.
The Husband: In a bizarre twist of fate, he gave it a 7/10! I’m starting to question his taste buds—or maybe he was just really hungry!
The Scorecard
Look: 2/10 (Refer to the "dog food" comment).
Taste: 4/10 (Overly salty and one-dimensional).
Kid-Friendly: 3/10 (Broccoli for the win, porridge for the rest).
Ease: 9/10 (Microwave rice makes it fast, but at what cost?!).
